6005 Gateway Boulevard, Edmonton, AB

What is the Living Connected Therapy Group?

This structured therapy group is informed by Somatic Therapy and is infused with theological and psychological teaching in relation to how to heal the relationship with our self/body so that we can live connected with God and others.

The definition of the word “somatic” is to relate to the body.

Somatic therapy is about learning how to be mindful of what you experience in your body and how you can use your connection with your body to ease your mind. This is referred to as the mind-body connection. By learning about the mind-body connection and how to benefit from it, you can improve how you view, understand, and stay present in your body. This promotes a healthy connection with self, God and others.

Who will Benefit from this Group?

This group is created for Christian Women who want to:

·      Have a healthier relationship with their body

·      Build a more positive view of self

·      Learn healthy coping tools for stress and anxiety

·      Build a deeper relationship with Christ

·      Be more present in the lives of their loved ones.

  • The Living Connected Somatic Therapy Group is a closed group consisting of 4-6 women who are 18 years of age or older. It runs for 7 weeks, each session 1.5 hours in length, and is facilitated by Nadine Crain. Each group session includes a teaching time, a sharing time and a somatic skills practice time.

    ·      The education time focuses on theological and psychological research that highlights the importance of living connected to one’s self/body in order to connect with God and others.

    ·      The sharing time gives opportunity for each group member to reflect on the improvements, struggles, questions, or new revelations they are experiencing.

    ·      The somatic skills practice time provides the members with healthy coping skills they can use on their own to ease anxiety or stress while staying connected with their self/body.

  • The cost is $100 per person for each 1.5 hour session, which will be paid by the credit card on file after each session. This includes one 50-minute video call which will be scheduled before the group starts, and 7 group sessions, which are 1.5 hours each.

The fee for this group may be reimbursed in whole or part by your private health insurance/employee benefits plan. Please note that obtaining reimbursement from an insurance company is the responsibility of each client. You are encouraged to contact your insurance provider directly for details of your coverage, to verify that group therapy services will be covered by your policy, and any conditions of this coverage.

This is a closed group that will not accept new registrants after the start date. Credit card information is required to hold your spot in the group. Your fees will be paid by the credit card on file after each session.

  • Because so much information is covered in each group session, regular and consistent attendance is strongly recommended. You may still participate in the Living Connected Therapy Group even if you know you will be absent for one or more sessions. Please note that the session fee will still be charged to you if you if you are absent.
